Jason Roark is an award-winning filmmaker from Portland, Oregon. Angel Applicant, a 2023 documentary shot and co-produced by Roark won the Grand Jury Award at its premiere at SXSW and is set for wide release in 2024. He has lensed documentaries, narrative feature films, as well as many commercials for major brands. In late 2023, The Criterion Collection released a special version of Guillermo Del Toro’s Hand Carved Cinema- A companion to the Oscar-winning animated film, Guillermo Del Toro’s Pinocchio, where Roark acted as primary DoP.
